 Adam Oates has been named the 16th coach in Washington capitals history.He will be here for at least 3 years as he has received a 3 year contract to coach.

Well the caps were very productive this time around. Not only did we draft 2 players in the first round Filip Forsberg and Thomas Wilson, they also traded the #54 overall pick and Cody Eakin to the Dallas Stars for Veteran Center Mike Ribiero. not bad mister GM not bad at all.

Caps have dealt center Cody Eakin and 2nd round pick (no. 54 overall) to Dallas for C Mike Ribeiro. Both Ovie and mike green have already welcomed him to Washington via twitter. He has one year left on his contract and will be a 5 million cap hit.

In some disheartening news. GMGM will not be offering Veteran Mike Knuble a contract to stay with the capitals next season. More news and quotes to come later.

The Hershey Bears have just announced that they will be having an outdoor winter classic game at Hershey park stadium Sunday January 20th.
Tickets go on sale the morning of June 18th.

Trade:Something from nothing

The Caps have traded goaltender Thomas vokoun to the Pittsburgh Penguins for a 7th round draft pick.
Vokoun was set to become a free agent on July 1 and had already declared he would not stay in Washington. Great move GMGM turning the negative into potential positive
